พันธุ์กระดุม ผลจะมีขนาดค่อนข้างเล็ก น้ำหนักประมาณ 1 กิโลกรัม ผลมีลักษณะค่อนข้างกลมด้านหัวและด้านท้ายผลค่อนข้างป้าน ก้นผลบุ๋มเล็กน้อย หนามเล็กสั้นและถี่ ขั้วค่อนข้างเล็กและสั้น ลักษณะของพูเต็มสมบูรณ์ ร่องพูค่อนข้างลึก เนื้อละเอียดอ่อนนุ่มสีเหลืองอ่อน เนื้อค่อนข้างบาง รสชาติหวานไม่ค่อยมัน เละง่ายเมื่อสุกจัด เมล็ดมีขนาดใหญ่
เนื้อละเอียด สีเหลืองจัดเกือบเป็นสีจำปา ปริมาณมาก รสชาติหวานมัน เมล็ดค่อนข้างเล็กและมีจำนวนเมล็ดน้อย
พันธุ์หมอนทอง ผลมีขนาดใหญ่ น้ำหนักประมาณ 3-4 กิโลกรัม ทรงผลค่อนข้างยาวมีบ่าผล ปลายผลแหลม พูมักไม่ค่อยเต็มทุกพู หนามแหลมสูง ฐานหนามเป็นเหลี่ยม ระหว่างหนามใหญ่จะมีหนามเล็กวางแซมอยู่ทั่วไป ซึ่งเรียกหนามชนิดนี้ว่า เขี้ยวงู ก้านผลใหญ่แข็งแรง ช่วงกลางก้านผลจนถึงปากปลิงจะอ้วนใหญ่เป็นทรงกระบอก
เนื้อหนาสีเหลืองอ่อนละเอียด เนื้อค่อนข้างแห้งไม่แฉะติดมือ รสชาติหวานมัน เมล็ดน้อยและลีบเป็นส่วนใหญ่
